With 21 fold. engrv. plates depicting 185 examples of insect and marine life at various stages of their development. 1st edition with this title, complete with Appendix which has a separate title-page. Some soiling/aging of the text, an early royal stamp on title-page, and some contemp. ms annots on the plates, otherwise fine. NOTE: Goedart (1617-1668) was a Dutch entomolgist of some distinction. Martin Lister (1639-1712) edited this version for the Royal Society supplying the Appendix on marine life.
