London: Printed for T. Becket and P.A. De Hondt, 1763. Sm. 4to. Later qtr. calf over marbled paper boards. (4, xxxvi, 248pp.). Title-page printed in red/black ink, and with a fine engrv. vignette. Some soiling and some contemp. ms annots. Occasional old worm-holing not affecting the text, otherwise a good complete copy of the rare 1st edition. NOTE: Ossian was the legendary Irish warrior and bard, son of Fingal (Finn MacCool), 3rd Century hero of Gaelic literature.
